Activity Specialists offer you the opportunity to to share a life maintanence skill with young adult participants at The Jewish Board.

The Cedar Knolls House is looking for an engaging volunteer to conduct age appropriate groups, assist youth with obtaining their vital documents (birth certificates, social security cards, NYC & NYS ID'S), attend college tours, and assist with vocational services in the community.

Volunteer hours are flexible Monday-Wednesday 6-13 hours per week.

Activity Specialists offer you the opportuntity to demonstrate a skilled activity to other individuals.

The Cedar Knolls House is looking for an energetic volunteer to work with youth ages 15-18, preparing recreational activities, trips, and providing fun and education supporting the LGBTQ population. Volunteer hours are flexible Sunday-Friday, 6-13 hours per week.

Participants develop personalized recovery plans to realize life role goals and integrate into the community. The program utilizes evidence-based practices, person-centered individual and group services, and optional vocational and clinical services to assist participants in achieving their goals.

Intern will do individual and group counseling.

Intern will carry a caseload of 6 clients (have individual sessions weekly while being able to assess for safety and clients' needs); facilitate PROS groups assigned; create group protocol for one group facilitating; attend staff meeting; work/collaborate with staff to ensure best treatment for clients

Description

A day-treatment program for severely emotionally disturbed children, ages 5 to 13, who are able to live at home or in a community residence, but require therapeutic and special education services.

Coordination of all services for clients, including weekly therapy, various case mgmt. responsibilities including: waiver service programs, emergency room staff, acute care hospital staff, pharmacies, attorneys, teachers, psychiatric providers, mental health clinics, ACS, etc.; maintaining weekly contact with clients' parents/caregivers; monthly meetings, on site, if possible; Liaison between program and clients' family members, and relevant community members; Develop, monitor, and report on treatment plan goals every 90 days; Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessment for each client upon admission; Engage in discharge planning for day treatment clients (coordinating outpatient mental health services for clients being discharged, completing accurate discharge summaries); Compose daily/weekly client progress notes; Other responsibilities as needed; attend and actively participate in weekly supervision with field instructor; attend and actively participate in weekly "rounds" with school staff to discuss cases; Attend and actively participate in monthly clinical department meetings; Co-lead weekly client groups (with staff therapist); write weekly group notes
