Description
Located in the heart of Manhattan's Greenwich Village, The Rita J. and Stanley H. Kaplan House is a Residential Treatment Program for 25 young men ages 17 to 21. They predominantly come to Kaplan from the foster care system but may also be referred through the New York State Juvenile Justice system. Residents have significant trauma histories, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional issues (and possible developmental deficiencies) that make it impossible to live in a more typical family setting.
We are recruiting volunteers who can help our clients to :
Learn about cell phone photography
Play board games
Cook and Bake
Garden on the patio outside of the residence
Be impacted by a motivational speaking session
These are just a few of the ways that you can spend a couple of hours in one week making a difference.
The schedule is flexible!
